WWI barbed wire...

In this post other scenery elements. After some damaged and destroyed buildings
for my 10mm WWI battleground, it' s time for barbed wire...

It' s an easy method. I rolled up the wire, cut sections of 4cm, more or less, and glued them
to 4cmm x 2cm bases. Then I flocked to match my terrain tiles...

Here are some "old" images:

10mm WWI FT-17, Part II...

Second part of our painting guide for our WWI French FT-17 platoon...

With these French tanks I completed the two forces for the scenario of  "Le Matz" from
the Pz8 rules and we' ll test as soon as possible at the wargame club :-)

Here are some words about this battle from www.greatwar.co.uk

"The Noyon-Montdidier Offensive known in the German plan by its code-name of “Operation Gneisenau” (9th - 13th June 1918). Also known as the Battle of Matz it was the fourth German offensive launched in 1918. The German plan was to push the German Front Line westwards in the sector between two salients; the northern salient had been formed from the fighting towards Amiens and the southern one at the end of the previous German offensive in the Aisne sector. If the Germans could make progress in the centre sector here, the indented Front Line of the bulge between these two salients could be straightened out. Although the Germans made progress on the first day, the French organized a counter-attack on 11th June. Three French and two American divisions were supported by tanks.
Two days later the Germans halted their offensive."

And now some pics...

After a small amount of drybrush with light sand I painted the tracks silver.
Then a black washing for the tracks and tail markings for each FT-17...

Here are some "in action" pics of this FT-17 platoon holding a badly damaged village...

10mm WWI, FT-17, French and Germans...and buildings...

At Crisis a friend of mine took my order...Pendraken 10mm, all WWI...
Three French tanks, FT-17, some French infantry and German assault troops.
And many bases for these miniatures, for my 28mm ECW and for my two 20mm
armies of the Carthaginian Wars...I want to rebase them...DBA v3 is coming...

More...I need three ruined buildings bases for the  Pz8 rules,  Belleau Wood scenario,
so I scratchbuilt them...

French tanks will be useful for another scenario of  Pz8 rules,
Le Matz, June 1918. A tanks encounter...Germans assaulting French line
and FT-17 as reinforcements...

Now some pics for our painting guide...
FT-17...by the way...Pendraken model is in 10/12mm scale, so you' ll be able to use it
in some WWI N scale train layout...

Assembled and white primed...

Base colour, light sand...

Medium green camouflage...

Dark brown washing...next time highlights and tracks...

Base colours for French and German infantry...

To scratchbuild my ruined buildings I used 6cm square bases from Warbases.
Walls from artistic hard board and textured. Painted with different effects
and a black washing to simulate burnt structures...

I added an explosion crater...

Remembrance and Italian Armed Forces Day...and Caesarian Romans

The 4th of November is the Remembrance Day and the Italian Armed Forces Day.
It was the Victory in the WWI since Austria-Hungary surrendered the 4th.

4.000.000 fought, 600.000 died, 1.500.000 were wounded...

And now something about our 28mm Caesarian Romans,
the third part of our painting guide...

Five miniature for an Impetus base...OK!

Completed shields, silver drybrush for armour,
first two layers for the wood grain and washing for the helmet...

dark washing for scabbards and belts...
