Napoleonic reenactment at Cherasco, Italy, on the occasion of

the anniversary of the armistice between Napoleon and the Piedmontese army...

Wood grain painting guide...and pimping another nice blog prize draw...

Our latest posts about our 28mm War of the Roses miniatures

stimulate some wargamers to ask "how can I paint that wood grain effect on

spears, bills and longbows?"

So, this is a short painting guide on how to paint a nice "wood grain"

effect for spears, bows, pikes... ;-)

First of all white primer for your miniatures...

Then paint the spear with burnt umber...

 Irregularly paint with a medium brown...in this case light grey brown...

Again...irregularly paint with a honey colour...

Last step...amber light or yellow ochre...

And now...pimping a nice blog and a prize draw!

Planning some scenarios...

Painting painting painting... and gaming?
Ok, I' m a miniature painter so I have to paint, but Gaming?

So I' m thinking to two scenarios, the first for the Three Musketeers,
and the second for some WWI tanks...

I' m inspired by these pics of a 17th century palace in Naples...
I image the musketeers arriving in a palace and ambushed by the villains...
or the Cardinal' s guards...
I' ll have to prepare some scenery... ;-)
 

 

This other picture, from the web, instead will be useful
for some tank scenario and to create some terrain tiles
for my 10mm WWI miniatures...I need only some FT-17...or British tanks...
